Appraisals are often a needed requirement to close the deal between a home buyer and seller.  While buyer and seller have agreed on price and term if the buyer is financing the purchase, the lender will require an appraisal to protect their investment in the deal.  We address some common myths and misunderstands people have about appraisals such as does it help if your home is the biggest or “best” in the neighborhood and what if you have done several costly home improvements.  And when it comes time for a senior family member to move, the process requires a few more details than a traditional move.  We discuss the importance of having family involved and things planned in advance.
